Et Voilà Théâtre (EVT) is a French-speaking theater troupe based in Houston, dedicated to promoting the French language through theatrical expression.
Founded in 1998 within Houston Accueil by Alain Bourgeois, EVT became an independent organization in December 2000. Since then, the troupe has staged thirty productions, directed and performed by artists of diverse nationalities, all united by a shared passion for the French language. Several of these productions have also toured beyond Houston, with performances in Dallas, Austin, and Lafayette. EVT is proud to be a regular participant in the French Cultures Festival, organized by the Consulate General of France in Houston, where its plays have become a highlight of the celebration of Francophonie. Houston’s rich cultural diversity naturally inspires EVT to build bridges between French- and non-French-speaking communities. To make its productions accessible to all, the troupe projects English surtitles during performances and collaborates with local artists by hosting exhibitions that foster dialogue across cultures. Beyond its stage productions, EVT also offers a weekly theater workshop conducted entirely in French. These workshops provide participants with a fun, supportive environment to explore acting through improvisation, scene work, and role-play—encouraging both personal growth and linguistic immersion.
