Once upon a time, in a large manor-house lost in the middle of Normandy Don Juan is going to be tried by six women, all past victims.
“Don Juan on Trial”, first play written in 1991, by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt , a young contemporary writer from Lyon. The play is first put on by Jean-Luc Tardieu with Micheline Presle, Danièle Lebrun and Mathieu Carrière for the main characters, and shows at the Comédie des Champs-Elysées. The play, adapted by Jeremy Sams’s (DON JUAN ON TRIAL) is put on in the US by the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre (1995), and in the UK by the Royal Shakespeare Company (1996). Past December, Awty School put on this adaptation. |
