Like the play “The Elephants' graveyard”, this photo exhibition deals with aging. In the midst of our frantic urban lives, we photographers will go out and look for these retired men and women who no longer are the prisoners of time. They have all the time in the world to spend the time that taunts them. Or maybe just to kill it.
“What if growing old was just another adventure, another exploration of possibilities! And what if growing old was a work of art, a creation of each moment! Why should curiosity and open-mindedness be the privilege of youth? As our body slows us down, life reverberates in our eyes. Why should growing old remind us only of the past, of letting go and grief? Long after words and the senses fail us, the flame of life still dances in our eyes." Evelyne Hainaud, Nurse in Grenoble, France. 2011 French Cultures Festival official event. |
