Odile and Jacques are a middle class couple, married, living a boring, mediocre and tasteless life. Their sole source of interest and entertainment is to consume things.
One day a special offer in the supermarket shows them how to kill their boredom by purchasing... a pair of friends! Neatly stowed in a closet, their new friends Guy and Juliette only come out at their owners’ request. Raised in the countryside, outgoing and very social, these purchased friends have to accommodate all the whims and desires of their owners. This social satire will make you laugh, cringe, and reflect on how a consumer society can be pushed to the extreme. 2016 French Cultures Festival official event. |
